| James
Konzen |
Even
prior to graduating from California State University San Diego, Konzen
was excited to embark on a career and burgeoning passion: to dramatize
sea, land, and sky with paint and brush.
In 1973 he was painting seascapes with the Coronado Art Association,
across the bay from San Diego. Now 30 years later, as a St. Helena,
California resident, he has been introduced to the beauty and drama
of the Napa Valley.
Over the years he has exhibited throughout California and has displayed
in numerous galleries in San Diego, Carmel, San Francisco, Sausalito,
Sonoma, and Petaluma. His work is also distributed throughout the
United States and the world. Locally, he draws from an extensive clientele,
many of whom have become collectors and purchase his work on a regular
basis.
Equal
to his love of painting the sea is a fascination with landscapes,
architectural themes, and still life images. Sometimes he will paint
a subject simply because of the challenge. Watercolor is a primary
medium, but he enjoys projects using acrylic and oil with palette
knife. art.
Bodega Landmark Studio Collection exhibits

the Dunes" (right), and a selection of prints in varying sizes.
