Timberlake |
Nestled
in a redwood forest, Timberlake Ceramic Arts draws from the beauty
of the Russian River and the Pacific coastal areas for inspiration.
Linda Timberlake, a native of Sonoma county, has had a lifetime of
working with clay, being greatly influenced from an early age by a
mother and an aunt who were both fine artists and potters.
Her career in ceramic arts began in 1971 in a friend's studio. In
1972, she enrolled at Santa Rosa Junior College, formally studying
pottery with Gene Yates, and acquiring an A.A. degree in Fine Arts
in 1975.
Upon graduating, she went to work in a production pottery studio,
and a year later started her own business. In 1982, she enrolled in
Sonoma State University's art program. After an inspiring four years
of studying sculpture and pottery with Kay Armstrong and Margie Ratle,
she acquired a B.A. in Fine Arts.
Linda prides herself on uniueness and quality. Every item is hand-made:
first thrown on a potter's wheel, then individually sculpted, enabling
each piece to be one-of-a-kind. The ware, kiln-fired to 2400 degrees
F., is both decorative and functional. It is microwave and oven safe,
and is 100% lead-free. She hopes her Neptune Collection will serve
as a reminder that the oceans and creatures of our planet are precious
gifts we should nurture, respect, and appreciate.
We have a large selection of Linda's
Neptune Collection (shown above). |
