Zaikine has explored many forms of sculpture, studied design and technique in the Pratt Institute and built an international reputation for the aesthetic quality of his work. His eclecticism, which includes painting and sculpture, ranges from the whimisical to the exquisitely formal. The gallery features various forms of his work, including ceramics which are expressions of profound unconscious sensuality, lustrously glazed. Zaikine says, "In the 50 years that I have worked with the earth, specifically clay, I am truly amazed by its capacity to teach me something new every moment I am with it.
